About me

Hi! I’m Kwan Ng, a current MSc IT student at Robert Gordon University (RGU) and the founder of the Aberdeen Information Hub. My journey to the “Silver City” began with a passion for discovery—whether it’s exploring the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands or experiencing the diverse cultures that make the UK so unique.

My journey to the “Silver City” began with a passion for discovery—whether it’s exploring the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands or experiencing the diverse cultures that make the UK so unique.

As an avid traveller and someone who loves collecting and organising useful information, I quickly realised that moving to a new country involves more than just packing a suitcase; it requires navigating a complex web of local systems, from housing to healthcare. Transitioning from Hong Kong to Aberdeen was a rewarding adventure, but it also highlighted the gaps in accessible, practical advice for newcomers.

Driven by my background in IT and my own relocation experience, I created this platform to bridge those gaps. My goal is to apply the technical skills I’m honing at RGU to build a comprehensive, user-friendly resource that helps fellow Hong Kong immigrants settle smoothly. From finding the best local amenities to understanding community services, I want to ensure your transition to Aberdeen is as seamless and welcoming as possible. Let’s make this vibrant city feel like home, together.
